In July 2021, Anecdata started the A Year in the Life project – an attempt at releasing a new song every week for a whole year. By October, the ongoing effects of New Zealand’s lockdown to prevent the spread of the Delta COVID-19 variant put an end to it – the home studio was never empty, so the project was abandoned.

The cover art for each song was generated using the primitive AI of the time, usually with the song’s name as the prompt.
