Battle Thru Time by Anecdata is a little sidestep into experimental synthpop – catchy tunes buried in strange and often lo-fi electronic production, with a dark twist (think Depeche Mode, Devo, Ultravox or early Human League).

It was released in mid-March 2020, right as the world was plunging into pandemic lockdown.

The highlight, ‘Tokyo Regret’, has stomping acoustic rhythms and off-kilter keyboards, bordering on ’60s psych, underpinning an elegiac melody and nostalgic lyrics.
